Sanjay Varma, Co-Founder & Vice Chairman
Sanjay Varma is a third-generation Vice Chairman of the Oriental American Jaima (OAJ) Group that was founded by his grandfather. Sanjay co-founded JMATEK Group in 2007, leading the company as CEO for over 5 years. In 2013, Sanjay stepped back from day-to-day operations and transitioned to a Vice Chairman role. Previously, Sanjay was VP of Business Development at Alibaba.com during its early days. Sanjay started his career with McKinsey & Company in India and also worked with OAJ in Hong Kong. Sanjay has an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. In September 2013, Sanjay received Enterprise Asia’s Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award for his direction in building JMATEK into a global leader in home comfort and energy efficiency. Sanjay is a Board Member of the social service organization Running to Stop the Traffik and is an advisor to and investor in several startups.
Rajesh Varma, Board Member
Rajesh Varma recently joined the board of JMATEK. He has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science as well as an MBA in Finance & Venture Capital, both from the University of Michigan. Over the last three decades, he has worked in Hong Kong, Boston, London, San Francisco, and now Paris – not just for well-respected institutions such as Fidelity, The Lazard Group, Montgomery Asset Management, and Carmignac Gestion, but also as an entrepreneur, as he was a co-founder of his own asset management company in the 1990s. He now runs a global equity fund with DNCA in Paris and is also a serial investor in unique private companies. He brings to JMATEK a vast breadth of knowledge in global industries.
